Parks, shopping, flamenco, Picasso!
Medieval cities, cathedrals, castles, Roman architecture!

But why!?
English is vital in Spain. Schools are bilingual and if you want to thrive in high school or college, you need to be fluent in English. English is a key to job security and financial stability. In the Covibar neighborhood of Rivas-Madrid, lower-income families and single parent families can struggle with essential opportunities for their kids. Some families cannot afford education assistance for their children.
Introducing Mosaico
Mosaico is a non-profit learning center in the Covibar region. They offer afterschool education assistance in any subject… but especially English… and they do it for half the cost of other programs in the area.
Mosaico believes in the kids of their region. Just because a family is poor or home is difficult doesn’t mean children have to suffer systemic poverty and social oppressions.
We want YOU to come with us to SPAIN to play with kids
and help them practice their ENGLISH!
And of course, we’re going to see some of the best that Spain has to offer!

COST: $2000 ($300 non-refundable deposit due by the end of November, remainder due by the end of February – see the link below for payment options)
HOW MANY ARE GOING: Only 5 spots for CCCK students. Don’t wait too long to apply. Reserve yours!
WHEN: Fly out Saturday, March 18th. Arrive home Sunday, March 26th.
WHAT ARE WE DOING: Monday through Friday evening we will be joining the Mosaico team to come beside their students for after-school education. We will play some games and interact with elementary age-kids who need practice with English. When we are not working with kids, we will be seeing LOTS of central-Spain (Madrid, Segovia, Toledo)
DO I NEED TO KNOW SPANISH: Nope. It might be better that you don’t!
DO I NEED A PASSPORT: YES. Yes. Absolutely. Get it yesterday.
DO I NEED TO BE VACCINATED: Yes. International travel is tricky and proof of covid-vaccination is nearly mandatory.
WILL I GET COLLEGE CREDIT: Nope. This is a justice-minded cultural experience in partnership with CCCK. It looks good on a resume and does not count for college-credits.
