Haiti – Partnering with Restavek Freedom

“Restavek,” Creole for “live with,” is a system of domestic slavery in which more than 300,000 children are now serving a household without pay and with no way to leave. This fund will be used to prevent child exploitation through a community-based education project led by ICCM and Restavek Freedom. Teachers, pastors, and parents will be trained in a 12-week Justice Curriculum designed to address and shift the harmful values that justify child abuse and exploitation. The project will reach all 130 Free Methodist schools and churches in Haiti during 2018. To learn more about Restavek Freedom, click here.
