40% of Ethiopia's 118 million people are under the age of 15. Equipping schools with enough supplies and trained educators is difficult. Lack of quality education, as well as ongoing gender discrimination, contributes to only 16% of children attending school beyond the 8th grade. Often, teenagers and young adults are not equipped with enough skills to escape poverty and food insecurity.
ICCM is equipping end empowering thousands of students in the central and southern regions of Ethiopia. Our own printing press and publishing company, a new acquisition, will significantly reduce the cost of resourcing students. This company will also create jobs and income for local programs.
Likewise, Ethiopia's rich opportunity in coffee farming, the nation's largest export, gives the ICCM team another significant endeavor. With an investment in our own, private organic coffee farm, We will be able to provide hundreds of jobs, develop skills, and reinvest revenue into our schools and other development opportunities.
We are currently seeking financial partners for our publishing company, as well as future coffee brand.
